Albert Vara is involved in equipment leasing, banking and real estate ventures in South Florida. He is also Cofounder of Airoperations.com where he is the Chief Technology Officer. The site is the first airline industry portal and e-commerce solution for the sale of airline parts to the aviation industry.
Mr. Vara was Cofounder and principle inventor for the first personal computer based ultrasound machine. The company was founded in a garage and quickly developed into one of the most innovative companies in medical imaging. He was invited to Microsoft and introduced by now CEO Steven Ballmer at "Microsoft Developers Days", an international annual satellite broadcast showing Microsoft's most innovative developer products and two "amazing products" that use them.
Mr. Vara holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami. His major course work included Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. He was hired as a college graduate by Cordis Corporation in Miami and chosen for the college employment-training program for selected technical hires. He became the Electrical Project Engineer for "Gemini", the most advanced dual chamber programmable cardiac pacemaker of its time at age 22. He has served
on the University of Miami Citizen's Board for over 15 years and has been a guest lecturer at the University on technical and entrepreneurial topics.
He has developed this site, CancerTrack LLC, an Internet cancer information site that provides up to date news,books and web links on cancer information. The site was founded as a result of his information search while helping his father battle lung cancer, this site is dedicated to his father. He currently serves as the sites Editor and Chief Software Developer.
